#1 Mistake Worship Leaders Make, and How to Avoid IT
So just what is the number one mistake worship leaders make? How did we miss it? The answer: Taking care of our physical bodies. As lead worshipers we can get so caught up in all the aspects of the ministry that we just simply let this area slip by. But believe me this is a very important step in preparing for worship. In fact it’s important for ministry and life period.
Scripture tells us that when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, The Holy Spirit comes to live within us. In fact our bodies become the temple of the Holy Spirit. Knowing that fact, it should be a God honoring priority for us to take care of our physical bodies.
How do we do that?
By exercising, eating well, and getting plenty rest. If we neglect any of these, our health will suffer. Which in turn will cause our service and our ministry to suffer.
To use a sports analogy: We practice and prepare through the week. Sunday, or whenever you service is, is game day!
Not to say in any way that church is a game or that we are performers, nothing could be further from the truth.
My point is this,
You must be prepared to give God your best! You must be in good health, to give your best. God deserves nothing less!
I have type 1 diabetes, so my health is # 2 only behind my relationship with Christ on my priority list. Neglecting my heath would be dishonoring to the God who created me, to my family, and to the ministry.
Try to do some sort of physical exercise 3 – 4 times a week. Whether it’s weight training, running, swimming, cycling, or whatever. Just get moving. Your body will love you for it. And you will be honoring God.
Eat a well balanced diet. I know this can be tough since we can be on the run so much. Food is the fuel for our body. If you put junk food in it, it will run like junk. Work at eating a well balance diet, so your body will perform at its best.
Try to get 7-8 hours of good sleep every day. I know some people can operate on less, some need more. But the point is, while you sleep your body refuels and repairs itself, neglect it, and your body will suffer. You need to be alert, clearheaded and well rested. Especially when leading.
Take care of your body. It’s the temple of the Holy Spirit. Exercise, eat well and be well rested. Honor God!

If you make the most of it, student life can be great. Not only do you get your first taste of independence, but there’s also an amazing opportunity to meet new people. The experiences you gain as a student stay with you for life and go towards shaping your future path.
Although many believe partying forms a large part of a student’s curriculum, in reality you are expected to work hard and often have tight deadlines to meet. From the moment you arrive, demands are high, with many courses requiring you to spend any ‘free’ time conducting research in the library or completing assignments.
And, as you progress throughout your course, you will find that the opportunity to socialise becomes less frequent, whilst the workload rises. Of course, you are studying and therefore expectations are that you have to work hard to earn your qualifications.
However, all work and no play makes for a dull student. That’s why it can be a good idea to make sure you take some time out and indulge in a bit of extra-curricular activity. This is especially important since a lot of studying requires individual effort and it’s essential to interact with other people, not least to maintain your sanity!
While heading to the pub is a popular pastime, there are many other things you can do to create a bit of excitement, as well as making friends. For example, why not round a group of likeminded people together and find some student games to participate in? It may be hard in the beginning, but if you put your mind to it, there are loads of activities which don’t involve downing mixed shots of alcohol.
Take ten pin bowling for instance. A fun way to wile away a few hours in the company of friends, bowling is a great student game. For the competitive spirited of you, you can challenge your fellow team mates to a bit of friendly competition, whilst at the same time saving money on gym membership by taking advantage of the calorie-burning exercise it induces!
If you look around, there are some attractive group deals available, which include things like shoe hire, food and drinks, meaning you don’t have to blow the student budget. And, for those who cannot bear to be away from the pub for too long, most centres come with a bar.
The other advantage of going ten pin bowling is that there are usually a range of other games and activities for people to do. For instance, many offer such things as amusement arcades, pool tables and even laser gun arenas.
Ten pin bowling is just one example of the many student games you can play. So, why not use your imagination and give the pub a miss the next time you plan to go out?

Think your job is dull? Check out some of the bizarre things people do for a living in this list of jobs you probably didn’t know existed. You’ll either wish you were doing one of these, or you’ll be thankful for the job you do have. And now, the top 10 weirdest, most ridiculous jobs out there:
Pet Food Taster Not only do these people eat dog food all the time, some actually enjoy it! It’s kind of like wine connoisseurs enjoying a new wine, except its stuff your dog or cat eats. To each their own…
Gross stunt producer If you’ve ever seen a show where people have to do disgusting things for money (like wade through rat-infested sewers or eat living bugs), rest assured it’s because someone’s job is to come up with such twisted concepts. A surprising amount of research is necessary to make sure that your ideas are not only gross, but also safe.
Bad Breath Smeller How else would you figure out if your company’s chewing gum is getting the job done? This also implies there are people whose job it is to chew gum and breathe in people’s faces.
Whiskey Ambassador Getting paid to drink whiskey- a job college kids everywhere can only dream of. These lucky people’s responsibilities include selecting the best whiskeys and teaching clients how to fully appreciate each whiskey’s nuances.
Ufologist As the name implies, ufologists are all about the study of UFO’s. History, recent reports, government conspiracies, it’s all included, so if the unknown is your passion this might not be a bad start.
Cryptozoologist These are the people you see on television explaining so convincingly why Big Foot or the Loch Ness monster are real. It’s all about using your science skills in less conventional ways.
Chicken Sexer The actual job responsibilities for these guys are relatively mundane- chicken sexers just have to figure out what gender baby chicks are and sort them accordingly. Still, nothing quite spices up your resume like a job with that title.
Pathoecologist You’d be surprised how much you can learn from…poop. Pathoecologists study feces from thousands of years ago, learning much about the lifestyles and diets of our ancestors.
Foley artist You probably hear their work all the time and don’t even realize it- foley artists are responsible for making those everyday environmental sounds in movies and shows on television. They often utilize whatever objects they please (from watermelons to flare guns) to accentuate sounds.
Queen Bee Producer If bees aren’t your thing this is probably the least desirable job out there, as these people work with bees everyday. But not just any bees- they specifically raise the most impressive of them all: the queens.

Your work schedule is tight – meetings and conferences and phone calls all day long. If you are lucky to get a moment to eat, you probably only have time to wolf down a hamburger from the fast food joint by your office, or something from the employee lounge vending machine, assuming you were unable to pack a lunch. Assuming, of course, you have time to shop for groceries at all!
In our society of quick fixes and rushed time, however, we find that many people who eat on the run wind up on the express lane to obesity, despite the output of energy in a given day. We know it is a vicious cycle that must be broken, but is there a way to at least tap the brakes a bit without crashing?
If you keep up with the news, you may have noticed the more popular fast food chains have altered their menus in order to compete with the rise of “fast casual” restaurants – sit-down establishments that resembles more formal eateries, but deliver food with the same speed and efficiency of a fast food place. Walk into a newly renovated McDonald’s and likely you won’t see plastic cartoon characters inviting you to sit in molded plastic booths. You may find a more relaxed atmosphere, mature decor and even wireless access so you can take work to lunch. Next to the colorful kids’ meals on the menu, too, you will find more sophisticated fare, like salads and fruit and vegetable side options.
So if you choose to continue the fast track to lunch, what should you eat in order to maintain a good diet? For all the changes in appearance, burgers and fries are still burgers and fries, and the sodium and fat contents of both remain despite the packaging.
For our Compuslim.com customers, we are happy to suggest menus to help slow the fat attack. We hope you will find this information valuable as well.
Coupled with bottled water instead of soda (always the best choice as far as drinks go), you can find some nutritional value when you eat on the run. Keep an even pace with just 30 minutes of exercise a day, and the next changes you see may appear in the way you look and feel.
Please note, though, that eating the meals on a regular basis will not guarantee weight loss. This guide is merely to offer the healthiest possible alternatives when patronizing these establishments. We at Compuslim hope our everybody who is serious about losing weight will continue to research their nutrition needs and learn what foods are best for them to eat to sustain a healthy lifestyle.
McDonald’s
To look at Ronald McDonald, it appears he has always looked slim, yet not everybody who includes McDonald’s food in a regular diet looks the same way. Just one Big Mac is 560 calories and has 30 grams of fat – on many eating regimens, that could represent a half a day of eating! For menu options that won’t take bust your belt or your wallet, you could try the following:
OPTION ONE: One regular hamburger, one side salad with light balsamic vinegarette dressing (used sparingly)
OPTION TWO: California Cobb Salad without chicken, with light balsamic vinegarette dressing (used sparingly)
OPTION THREE: Asian Salad no chicken with light sesame ginger dressing (used sparingly)
Burger King
You can still “have it your way” at this landmark chain restaurant, and the good news is that your way doesn’t necessarily have to lead to weight gain. Next time you visit the King, try the alternatives to the hamburgers offered:
OPTION ONE: Grilled chicken sandwich and side salad, dressing used sparingly
OPTION TWO: Grilled chicken salad, dressing used sparingly
Wendy’s
One of Wendy’s biggest selling points is their value menu, where you can find a number of items for about a dollar each. It may surprise you to know, too, a number of these items have been offered for many years, and have always been good alternatives to triple-patty hamburgers:
OPTION ONE: Large chili, side salad, dressing used sparingly
OPTION TWO: Baked Potato no butter or sour cream, large chili
OPTION THREE: Grilled chicken sandwich, side salad, dressing used sparingly
Taco Bell
Oftentimes people are led to believe that if food contains certain ingredients or is prepared in a certain way (like in a tortilla instead of a carb-heavy bun), that it must be healthier. Not necessarily so. Wherever you go, be vigilant about what you eat, and if you head for this border you may want to consider the following for your next meal:
OPTION ONE: Chicken “Enchirito” no cheese, “Cinnamon Twists”
OPTION TWO: Bean burrito no cheese, “Cinnamon Twists”
OPTION THREE: Two chicken soft tacos, no cheese or avocado dressing
To calculate possible menus at other popular fast food restaurants, visit the corporate websites of your favorite restaurants. Many have online calculators handy to total the overall nutritional value of your food choices. From there you can make sound decisions about what you eat.

Making the decision that your elderly parent needs more than assistance in their own home is a difficult one. However, finding an assisted living home that meets your needs can ease the process. What sorts of things should you consider when choosing an assisted living home?
1. Proximity. If possible, choose a home that is close to your own so you can visit often and spontaneously. Knowing you are just a few minutes away will be comforting to your parent and will ease the transition.
2. Caregivers. Visit the home during each shift to meet the caregivers. States require training and certification, but you should look for experienced caregivers who genuinely enjoy caring for the elderly. Sometimes you can tell by the expressions on their faces if they are happy there, or just going through the motions. Ask how many caregivers there are per shift, and how many residents live in the home. Try to find an assisted living home with a high caregiver to resident ratio.
3. Meals. Visit during mealtimes. It is important that the food served be nutritious and delicious. The elderly eat less as they age. Appetites diminish over time, and taste buds degenerate. Food must be appetizing, fresh and high quality so that the amount eaten provides adequate nutrition. Ideally, choose an assisted living home with a nutritionist on staff, or one that consults with nutritionists for meal planning. Be sure the home caters to dietary needs and offers substitutes for restricted items.
4. Activities. Activities should nurture the body, mind and spirit, and create community. Ask for the monthly calendar of activities. Are the activities interesting, fun, engaging, varied? The primary reason the elderly are placed in assisted living homes is concern for their safety living alone. An assisted living home should not only be a safe place, but one of community for your loved one. Are residents in the common areas, or are they all sequestered in their rooms? Do they speak to each other at meals or during activities, or are the only voices those of the caregivers?
5. Amenities. Amenities can add much to the quality of life in a care home. This is where care homes can differ significantly. Ask what makes their home special. Do they nurture the body, mind and spirit? Do they offer holistic therapies? Special programs? Do they have doctors that make house calls?
6. Volunteers. Befriend volunteers, as they can be eyes and ears of anything amiss with the home. Homes that are interested in the well being of their residents will often utilize volunteers, such as for reading out loud, helping residents with writing cards or checks, etc., because it allows them to offer more to their residents.
7. Pets. There are organizations all across the country that train pets and their owners to provide therapy visits. Visits with animals are particularly appreciated by the elderly, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Find out if volunteers come to the home, and what they do for the residents.
8. Cleanliness. Is the home neat and clean? Do the bathrooms look and smell clean? Are the common areas tidy? Do the residents look groomed and are their clothes clean? (Residents have rights and they are free to refuse showers, food, medication, assistance with dressing and hygiene, all of which can cause a resident to appear uncared for; however, the resident’s doctor, guardian or relatives are to be notified so that any underlying issues can be addressed. If all the residents appear to be unkempt, there may be an issue with the care being provided.)
9. Violations. States have regulatory agencies that keep track of the violations of assisted living homes. It may not concern you that much if a care home failed to chart one of its routine fire drills, but it should concern you if there have been multiple claims of abuse, neglect, or safety issues.
10. Cost. Care homes usually have sliding fees based on the size of the room, whether it is a suite with a private bath, and the level of care the resident requires. The more care, the higher the fee. The larger the room, the more the cost, with suites being the most expensive. Personal items, such as Depends, other hygiene items, denture creams, medication, etc. are all the responsibility of the resident. Meals and snacks, assistance with daily needs such as getting up, going to bed, bathing, toileting, cleaning, laundry service, activities and entertainment are usually included in the monthly fee. Find out what is not included in the fee, so that there are no surprises at the end of the month. And do not be afraid to ask what their policy is in raising fees: do they give notice, how often have they raised fees in the past, do they anticipate raising fees in the next six months?
Take a checklist or list of questions when you visit care homes. Make sure you get the answers to all your questions so that you are fully informed when making your decision. When you’ve done your homework and narrowed it down to the best 3 or 4 that meet your needs, if possible, take your parent to tour the homes. Allow your parent to select the one that feels right for them. You’ll ease the transition by including your parent in the decision-making, and you’ll both have peace of mind that you’ve made the best choice.

10 Plant Care Ideas You Can Make At Home For Your Organic Garden
There is a renewed interest in organic gardening and organic foods and the health of our families. With the right homemade plant care recipes and tips you will be able to achieve an organic garden, with healthier foods for you and your family. By reducing the use of commercial chemicals you will be doing your part to help improve the environment.
1. Homemade fertilizer recipes:
Homemade fertilizer recipes for your garden will make it easy for you to fertilize all of your plants. You will always develop preferences for one method over another because of things like ease of use, availability of materials, cost of materials or whatever, but making your fertilizer at home will make fertilizing your vegetables, fruit trees and flowers easier for you. and you will have the confidence that your food is more healthy for your family. Use things like Epsom salts for fertilizers.
2. Homemade insecticide:
The first thing you should remember. There are more good bugs than bad ones, be sure to target your insecticide usage to the bugs you actually want to kill. Frequently things like garlic, molasses, hot peppers, etc. are suggested to kill insects.
3. Homemade fungicide:
The first consideration when using many of the homemade fungicides is to keep them agitated as you use them and be sure to cover all of the plant. Interestingly we can often target very specific diseases with homemade products. Steep some Chives in water to control Powdery Mildew. Many times the simple things work very well.
4. Weed Control:
A weed is any plant growing where it’s not wanted. Try to control weeds before they mature and produce seed. There will be far less next year. There are a number of home based things we can use to kill weeds, like salt (be very careful where you use salt). Did you know weeds can be part of our physical fitness programs. Just pull em.
5. Green Manure:
Green manure is a crop that is seeded for the purpose of being incorporated into the soil when it is still green and succulent. The crop species are usually legumes because of their ability to fix nitrogen in their root system and to release it back to the soil as the plant breaks down. The organic matter available from green manure is so good for the soil that it is hard to duplicate .
6. Composting:
The practice of mixing vegetable matter and a small amount of animal matter together so natural microorganisms can break down the fibrous portions and make a soil amendment. Compost is extremely valuable around the garden for adding organic matter to soil, serving as a mulch for your plants to control soil moisture and adding nutrients.
7. Vermicomposting:
Vermicomposting is composting using earthworms to speed up the process and to make a richer compost for the garden. The microorganisms in the gut of the earthworm break down the food. The castings from the earthworm contain large numbers of these microorganisms as well as organic matter. The benefit of these microorganisms to the soil is unmeasurable. Did you know? Vermicomposting can be accomplished in an apartment because the worms speed up the composting process and eliminate the odor.
8. Compost Tea:
The best liquid fertilizer you can make. Use compost from vermicomposting to make compost tea and use a diluted version of the resulting liquid, for all of your plants. You can use regular compost or even animal manure for compost tea bur vermicompost is always the one of choice. Compost tea is often recommended for spraying on your plants to control some fungal diseases. Soak the compost for at least 2 weeks.
9. Soil improvement in your garden:
The proper treatment of your soil is of prime importance in getting the most nutritious and flavorful food possible for the family. The spring rush to plant our crops frequently means we do not take time to prepare the most important part of our garden. Slow down just enough to prepare your seed bed properly.
10. Homemade houseplant fertilizer:
Most of us enjoy houseplants especially in the winter months when the days are short, the weather is cold and snow is frequent. Using homemade products to get lush green houseplants helps to brighten the winter period and avoids undesirable chemicals in the house. Try black coffee diluted 1:4 water every 2 weeks.
When you grow your own food, control the fertilizer you use, the pesticides you use and harvest your own garden produce, you know what you are feeding yourself and your family. Can you be that sure of the food you purchase?

The poisoned dog and cat food crisis with pet food producers has alarmed many cat and dog owners. Now, they are fighting back via legal claims and class action lawsuits.
Pets in both the United States and Canada have experienced serious problems, such as kidney failure, loss of appetite, seizures, death, and other symptoms resulting from eating poisoned petfood. As a result, there has been a recall of millions of food items.
Despite uncertainty as to the exact cause of the problem, the contaminants in the pet foods were identified, and one manufacturer, Menu Foods, has voluntarily recalled the products.
Class action suits are now being prepared in this case for this company and others. In one lawsuit, two Manitoba, Canada plaintiffs are suing over the death of a cat and several dogs, after eating the recalled products.
And while Menu Foods seems to be experiencing the majority of the legalities, other companies are affected. Royal Canin, based in is being sued for around 50 million dollars over contaminated food. In this case however, the contamination is excessive Vitamin D, which can be dangerous to dogs and cats in large enough does. And so although the symptoms appear to be the same as the other products, the underlying reason is very different.
A quick search of the Internet provdes many companies wanting your claim, with class action lawsuits all throughout North America. Importantly, these lawsuits require your participation, but don’t require any payment, as all fees will be paid out of the judgment.
A difficulty for any class action is evaluating what are the damages, if any. By law, animals are considered property, so damages are based on the actual value of the animal. But dogs and cats are much more than just property, and the law may be unable to set a proper price on the loss of a loved pet friend. Under the current legal system, ‘pain and suffering’ does not apply to dog or cat loss.
Should these issues affect your pet, you may wish to become part of a lawsuit easily. Searching the Internet will provide you various options. But no matter which lawyer you use, you must keep track of all related items: veterinarian bills and other care invoices, food and food containers, store invoices, plus anything else likely to be needed to prove a case. Gathering your paperwork, you improve your chances of both being included with and winning a judgment.
Time will tell if these claims provide any compensation for the pet owners. But by putting a price tag on pet care, there is the possibility that more attention will be shown for pet food and pet food preparation from now on.

The one procedure which is most popular amongst people or interested in cosmetic dentistry is tooth whitening. Ever since we were little most of us were taught that someone who has white teeth has them because they have continuously brushed their teeth and as a result they are now white and healthy. If you have done a little bit of research regarding the field of dentistry that you know that brushing your teeth at least three times on a daily basis does make a difference but it takes a lot more to have a white beautiful and healthy smile.
A phrase I am very sure you have heard dozens of times if not hundreds of times throughout your life is that you should pay a visit to the dentist at least twice a year, besides a regular checkup your dentist can remove small portions of food which are stuck in between your teeth, is our very hard and nearly impossible to reach by simply brushing your teeth and flossing.
In addition, your dad this is also able to detect many forms of diseases which start in the mouth for instance, if you have a gum disease and you suffer from diabetes and it is important that you have your gums treated first, this will make it easier for the diabetes to be controlled, the same can be said of people who suffer from cardiovascular conditions and have some sort of periodontal disease.
Teeth whitening
Many people are concerned about the appearance of your smile so they focus on the shade of white that they want to achieve, the only problem is that teeth whitening can be somewhat expensive if you don’t have a dental insurance, in order to address this issue companies which manufacture toothpaste and oral health products have also started to sell items which will help you get a brighter smile after using their products constantly.
Those who don’t want to invest a lot of money in teeth whitening can try the following method, grab a piece of charcoal (charcoal is burned wood which is used to start a barbecue fire) then grab a toothbrush and start brushing the charcoal onto your toothbrush becomes black, then proceed to dip your black toothbrush on some baking soda, only dip the strings of the toothbrush, not the entire head of the toothbrush, quickly submerge in water the strings of the toothbrush which had baking soda, and lastly proceed to brush your teeth with the same toothbrush, after you have finished brushing your teeth with the charcoal and baking soda mixture continued to brush your teeth with regular tooth paste.
Charcoal plus baking soda makes a powerful combination which can help you whiten your teeth in just a minute. When you aren’t looking for charcoal though make sure that it has no chemicals, charcoal which is sold at stores normally have a certain degree of chemicals which help keep their shape as well is maintained a fire going at a steady temperature. When it comes to charcoal for teeth whitening make sure that you go all natural, also did not repeat this process more than once every week.

Thousands of athletes in many sports spend millions of dollars on growth hormone and growth hormone promoters in the hope that it will help them grow larger muscles, become stronger and therefore be better athletes. Researchers from Winnipeg reviewed the scientific literature and found that there is no controlled data to show that growth hormone helps make athletes stronger Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, Volume 12, 2002).
As you age, blood levels of growth hormone drop. A 1990 study from the University of Wisconsin showed that taking growth hormone enlarges muscles. Since then equal numbers of studies support and refute that growth hormone increases muscles and decreases fat.
Growth hormone is a protein that is destroyed in the stomach, so it can only be given by injection, and growth hormone injections can only be given legally by prescription, so most of the advertised products are “growth hormone releasers” which are taken by mouth, not by injection. They do not contain ANY growth hormone. The advertised products are amino acids, the building blocks of protein, the same as the protein you get in your food. Eating anything raises your blood level of growth hormone temporarily, and protein raises it a little bit more than fats or carbohydrates. So any food can be sold as a growth hormone releaser without lying, but food sources of protein are a lot less expensive than the pills. The growth hormone releaser products are nothing but ordinary protein from soybeans, tuna or milk.
